Shield gives Scarlet a protective barrier that absorbs one mistake. If you mistime a jump and would normally trip, the shield breaks instead and you continue. This stacks, so you can have multiple shields active.

Shield is valuable for players who want to push their limits without the risk of ending a run early. It's especially useful when attempting high-altitude endings where a single mistake can cost you thousands of meters.
